Why VIMM Model is different in usability testing.

Usability refers to how easy it is for users to use a product. It focuses on how effectively users can interact with the interface and complete tasks efficiently and with satisfaction. Usability testing is a method for evaluating the functionality of a website, app, or other digital product by observing real users as they attempt to complete tasks on it.

How it is different from Graphical user interface testing?
Graphical user interface testing is used to determine the front-end portion of any application. on the other side usability testing determines the extent of the user-friendliness Interface as well as overall functioning of the software.

VIMM Model
The VIMM Model is a usability evaluation framework that stands for Visual, Intellectual, Memory, and Motor.
It is used to assess the usability of user interfaces by focusing on these four key aspects.
– Visual Load
– Intellectual Load
– Memory Load
– Motor Load

Lets discuss one by one.
Visual Load
In the visual load we focus on visual aspects of the interface. How the interface looks like.  The visual elements should not distrurb the user when he is interacting with the flow.
Check these points in you design.

– Clarity of visual elements
– Readability of text
– Use of colors and contrast
– Layout and alignment
– Visual hierarchy and emphasis on important elements
