In this article, I’ll tell you the basics of project management and who initiates it. A project is a set of tasks that we perform to achieve some goals. We apply project management techniques to achieve business and project goals. The project has a good start and a good end. The end is reached when all the objectives of the project have been met. The project has to produce some deliverables. All the deliverables are defined before the project starts.
Who initiates it?
Initiation is the first phase of the project. A well planned initiation is the strong foundation of the project. It is the duty of the project manager to identify goals, responsibilities, and other deliverables based on the initial discussion. Without an understanding of the project goal, you can not define what resources you need or how much time it will take to finish the project.
Steps to initiate the project
- Creating the project document that defines the project objective and business needs
- What are the business goals and project goals.
- What general result does the client want to see?
- What values will the project create?
- Is this beneficial for our organisation?
- How much time do the resources have to spend on this project?
- How will the user experience and UI be improved?
- Are there any technological constraints?
- What are the final deliverables?
- What will the final product look like?
- Is the project possible?
- Do you have resources and a workforce.
- Can it be finished within the defined budget?
